Oahu Camping Vans
All the vans can accomodate up to 4 adults. The backseat turns into a bed and the front facing pop top open up for a 2nd bed, both of which fit 2 adults each. For those beds, we provide sheets, pillows, and blankets for up to 4 adults, depending on the size of your party (so sleeping bags won't be necessary, unless its your preference).
Each camper has 2 burner propane stoves, sink for washing, and cubboards with cooking and eating utensils; pots, pans, knifes, cutting board, barbeque lighter, bowls, plates, cups, forks, spoons, (up to 4 people depending on the size of your party), and a french coffeemaker. The refrigerator is supplemented with a cool box due to troublesome westy fridges.
Vans also come equipped with Franko Guide Maps.
Call Anthony at 808-261-9393, e-mail: oahucampingvans@gmail.com, or enquire upon pickup of vehicle for free extras we can lend to you, depending on your needs and interests, to make your trip more enjoyable.
All the vans look and drive well and have gas engines and standard transmissions. However, should a problem occur, we are available 24/7 to provide you with fast repair or replacement.
For all of our vans, we will provide an orientation upon pickup of the vehicle; where things are stored and how it operates.
More about our vans:
"Billabong"
Billabong is our 1986 Westy from Oregon. She gets anywhere from seventeen to twenty-one miles per gallon, as do all of our vans. She is a real nice ride and is ipod ready. She likes having her top popped at Sunset Beach. Imagine lying up on the roof with a perfect view of the surf. If you are waiting for the wind to die down, all you have to do is lift your head up and open your eyes. You will catch waves with this van. She is soft rack ready and has custom curtains courtesy of Deedy Roberts, (mom). Ready or not, Billabong is in town!
"Coppertone"
Coppertone is a 1980 Westy. She is named after the suntan lotion and you don't want to go to the beach without her! She's old but not tired. Every body loves her for her color and style. Our happy campers have put a couple of dents in her since her restoration back in 2007 but overall she is still a real attention getter. The van is also ipod ready. She has custom curtains courtesy of Juliana FreeHand, (publisher of movie Peace Maker). Let's go camping!
"Granola"
Granola is a 1987 Westy. She's got a standard transmission and roll down windows as do all of our vans (except for 1 automatic with power windows). This girl is all natural with the utmost comfort and reliability. You will enjoy watching beautiful sunsets as you tour our island home. Enjoy Oahu Hawaiian Style; this is truly the life!
"Diamond Head"
Diamond Head is our 1987 Westy. She has an automatic transmission and power windows. Diamond Head is not only Oahu's most famous tourist attraction two minutes outside of Waikiki. It's also where you should go to learn to surf and this van is how you should be getting there! Hang ten!
